For many people, being exposed to scented products such as fragrances and chemicals can pose a
serious health risk. Migraine headaches, nausea and breathing problems are common symptoms
for anyone who is affected by fragrances.
Students and teachers who are in close proximity in hallways and classrooms can experience
these symptoms.
Hadley Junior High School is dedicated to providing a healthy, comfortable and productive work
environment for everyone in the school. Due to the health concerns arising from exposure to
scented products, Hadley Junior High School provides a scent-free environment.
Spray containers
• No sprays of any sort are permitted at school.
Any kind of spray products such as body spray, deodorant, perfume, cologne, disinfectant or
air freshener are not permitted. Solid deodorants are acceptable.
• Spray containers will be confiscated and not returned.
Fragrance
• The use of personal fragrance products is discouraged.
• Persons wearing offensive (unpleasant, odious) amounts of fragrance will be asked to
wash it off.
