Reflection Room Policy
- The Purpose of the Reflection Room: the purpose of the Reflection Room is to allow time for students and teachers to re-evaluate a situation causing a disruption or a failure to communicate. The Reflection Room is to be used only after measures have been taken by the teacher to resolve the issues hampering success in the classroom.
- Rules for the student while in Room:
- no sleeping, eating, or drinking; no hats or walk-mans; and no talking;
- work will be provided by the supervisor or the principal;
- unless otherwise noted by the principal, students will report to next class;
- if the student refuses to follow these rules, the principal should be contacted immediately and a report filled-out; if a student is asked to leave the Reflection Room for refusing to obey the rules in Reflection Room, the student will be sent home immediately and suspended for one full school day.
- if a student is sent to Reflection Room twice in the same day, the student will be sent home immediately and suspended for one full school day;
- students are to leave the reflection room when they are dismissed by the supervisor.
